Having just returned from a 4-night break to Krakow I thought I would share some of my thoughts with you all…
Firstly, what a beautiful City. So many things to do and perfect for couples friends and families. I found it so varied. From touring the Jewish quarters with its quirky eateries and synagogues to lively bars and fine dining restaurants, museums and fun things like cat cafes and a fantastic shopping mall.
You can get a beautiful three-course meal with drinks right on the main square for around £15 per person or less. We had Thai, Indian, traditional Polish and LOTS of delicious sweet treats. We tried the delicious flatbread pizzas in the Jewish quarters that was big enough to share between 2 and it was £1!!
Auschwitz was such an experience, definitely somewhere everyone should visit. I was worried I would find it upsetting but you don't have to go in to anywhere you don't feel comfortable. It is all done very sympathetically and although there are lots of people there, it was all very organised and we had our own guide. Pickups are from Krakow town centre and its about an hours trip to the camps through the lovely Polish countryside.
We went Monday to Friday which was perfect for us, seemed to be a little bit quieter. It definitely picked up the pace on the Friday.
Everywhere is walkable, we certainly put the steps in but there are great golf buggy tours, bike hire, segways and even taxi's if you want to see it at leisure and they give you a wealth of information, we did a bit of both (make sure you haggle the price with the golf buggy tours)
If you want any advice or are thinking about booking it then feel free to pop in and see me. It really is a fantastic city. I can’t recommend it enough.
